Margaret Watling Memorial Demonstration

Margaret Watling Memorial Demonstration
7pm Thursday 9 November 2017
Available Qty: 182

Price: $40.00

Margaret Watling, floral artist, visionary and determined champion of the Canterbury Horticultural Society believed all should be able to share in the beauty of flowers. She foresaw this through their presentation in design, seen at shows, public exhibitions, demonstrations and learning opportunities. Her financial support to the Canterbury Horticultural Society has ensured her spirit and passion for flowers has continued to this day. Her connection with Floral Art New Zealand and her involvement in establishing this organisation was integral to her teaching and demonstrating.

This year we present the Margaret Watling demonstration in two parts. For the first time in nearly twenty years Cantabrian floral designers are sitting the Floral Art New Zealand national demonstrators exam. Our evening event has two designers sitting this exam, Shirley Russ and Annette Waller. This part of the exam is a one hour demonstration to an audience of over 100 people. A panel of three judges will be present in the audience to assess Shirley and Annette’s work, design and stagemanship.
