Marion Smith

Marion has a small flower farm just outside Rangiora where she specialises in growing edible flowers for Christchurch hospitality businesses, as well as keen bakers and home cooks who aspire to take their special creations to the next level.

Petal & Co was created in 2017 with the aim of providing a local source of edible flowers to ensure the utmost freshness of these delicate beauties. To this end when the flowers are in season she delivers into Christchurch three times a week, and ties this in with doing shifts at The Pantry inside Riverside Market where she sells her dried edible flowers and cut flower bouquets.

Marion uses sustainable and regenerative methods to make certain her flowers have optimum flavour and longevity, while ensuring her business has only a positive impact on the environment. She is MPI registered sas a food supply business, and grows over 50 varieties of edible and non toxic flowers.

Marion has long been immersed in all aspects of gardening and grew up in a green-fingered family where she was always surrounded by trees and flowers. Her business Petal & Co is a joyful culmination of her interests in food, flowers, and creativity.
