Learn to create a Kono Basket from Harakeke

In this workshop you’ll learn how to make a useful Kono (four corner) basket. By the end of the workshop you’ll have the knowledge and skills to craft your own practical and sustainable harakeke basket.


Putiputi (Flax Flowers)

Learn to create Putiputi from Harakeke

Join us at The Kiosk for an enriching and hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the art of making different styles of Putiputi and leave with a bunch. By the end of the workshop you’ll have the knowledge and skills to craft your own stunning putiputi, carrying a piece of sustainable and cultural artistry into your life.


Tutor Toni Rowe

Toni RoweToni lives in Ōtautahi with her partner, and together they have five children. She has had the privilege of weaving and teaching this beautiful taonga for the past 20-plus years for various organisations, kura, and communities. She studied under the guidance of Jeni Ratana at Manaakitia Trust in Wanganui in 2019 and then further developed her Raranga at TWOA Ōtautahi in 2014, completing Level 5.

Raranga has become a part of her everyday life, and she can’t imagine life without creating and sharing this wonderful taonga.
